“Think what that will feel like, Em. Walk out now. Just do it.”-One Day, David Nicholls
This line had been a huge part of my 2011. I remember reading this book during my “quarter-life crisis”, and i came across this part, wherein Emma Morley was stuck nowhere in life and she just settled for a crappy job, a loser boyfriend who loves her very much (but whom she didn’t love back), and a flat which she shared with a colleague who assigned her to a room with no windows, all because she was too afraid to take a leap of faith and go after what she wants and what she deserves.
So yeah, thank you Dexter Mayhew for your letter to Emma. You saved me from insanity, really. <3

Where to, miss?

When you’re caught in the battle of choosing between what you want to do and what you should do, whereto?

What you want to do

  • Pros: you’re happy
  • Cons: it doesn’t pay well, nobody understands why you want to do it

What you should do

  • Pros: it pays well, everyone around you seems impressed with what you do
  • Cons: it’s tiring, you’re not happy

I just wish that people wouldn’t be so judgmental about what others do for a living, who they go out with, where they hang out, etc., you know? Then again, i wish that i could just stop caring about what others think of me. Dammit! What a fcked up world we live in. (I can’t wait ‘til i move to Mars!)

But if i were to ask you, which one would you choose, what you want/love to do or what you know you should do?
